The Lady Jets Volleyball team could not snap its losing streak this week against Dallas Baptist and St. Edward’s University.
On Thursday, the Jets took on Dallas Baptist resulting in a 0-3 loss. The score was close; the scores of the three sets were 27-25, 28-26 and 26-24.
“It’s tough to lose but I think it motivates us a little,” team captain Gabby Loxterman said. “We never have given up and we’re starting to play up to our potential and as a team, so hopefully we can start winning these close games.”
A couple of days later the Jets faced SEU, whom the Jets took to 4 sets but despite the effort, came up short, losing 1-3.
“We made some changes to our lineup between our matches Thursday and Saturday, which we felt like was an improvement in overall as a team,” Assistant Coach Amanda Guess said. “We are hoping that this change will cause us to continue to see an improvement as the season starts to go through the conference a second time.”
“The overall results have been discouraging for of us because of our competitiveness and we have lost so many close matches,” senior captain Katelyn Schmidtberger said. “Each game is a new game and we have to stay united as a team to work together. Hopefully this new lineup will keep clicking and everything will fall into place.”
The Jets are back in action 7 p.m. tonight, facing Oklahoma Panhandle State.
