The annual Spring Fling, hosted by the Campus Activities Board, will give students, faculty and staff the chance to enjoy games, food, music and community.
The event will run from 1 to 4 p.m. on Friday at Founders Plaza and will follow Scholars Day.
Director of Student Activities Josh Prilliman said that this year’s Spring Fling will feature student favorites from last year, including a dunk tank, an inflatable slide, a watermelon eating contest and a photo booth.
Prilliman said that he and the Campus Activities Board executive team, which includes juniors Kassidy Miller and Travia Smith, have been working hard to find new activities and food that students will enjoy. Smith said that it has been rewarding to collaborate with other members of the team.
“It was interesting to see the creativity in the ideas of all members who are a part of the planning process and work together to narrow down these ideas to ensure that students have the greatest experience,” he said.
Because of this collaboration, Smith and Miller said, Spring Fling will offer a rock wall, funnel cakes, snow cones, fried Oreos, wings, cotton candy and a fresh lemonade stand. In addition to games and food, balloon artists and face painters will be there.
“It’s going to be a great day to relax and have some fun before finals week starts,” Miller said.
Prilliman said that Spring Fling drew more than 150 students last year, but he hopes to see even more attend the event this year.
“You’ve been working hard all year,” Prilliman said. “Take 30 minutes out of your day to get some food, lemonade, have a little fun and just take a break.”
