The Kansas City Chiefs aren’t in the Super Bowl this year, but the Super Bowl will go on anyway, and on Sunday, the Newman Gaming Club will put on a Super Bowl party that will give students a chance to watch the game together.
The party will be held in the Mabee Dining Hall and will be starting at 5:30pm Kelly Griffin, Director of food services, will be catering the event courtesy of Great Western dining.
The NFL will tip off Super Bowl LX at Levi’s Stadium in Santa Clara, California. The game has the Seattle Seahawks (NFC) taking on the New England Patriots (AFC). The match starts at 5:30 p.m.
The game will be shown on the new TV that the Student Government Association purchased and had installed in the cafeteria last semester.
“I think big events like the Super Bowl are best enjoyed with a group,” said Gaming Club president Deqlan Mitchell.
“Everyone is going to be there anyway because the game starts at the same time as dinner.”
Puerto Rican artist Bad Bunny will headline the halftime show. Charlie Puth will sing the National Anthem.
The game on Sunday will be a rematch of Super Bowl XLVIII, back in 2014.
