A video tribute at graduation will honor Teaching Excellence Award recipient Dr. Suzanne Berg, who received the award in April posthumously after she unexpectedly passed last February.

Newman University is now facing four lawsuits by former employees, two of which were filed within the past month.

A new cafe named The Newman Grind opened this week in the space that previously held Scooter’s Coffeehouse. The snack bar will be operated by Great Western Dining Service, which is the same company that supplies all the food in Mabee Dining Center and for general catering at Newman events.

Newman University hosted its first ever Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Unity March on Jan. 17, a few days before the official MLK Day holiday.
