Newman’s men's basketball team will meet Wichita State University for an exhibition game that will start at 7 p.m. on Wednesday at Koch Arena.

The pre-season game will allow the two Wichita teams, who are not in the same division, to test their skills against each other before the regular season starts.

Members of the Newman community can get special $20 tickets for the game and sit in a section with other Newman fans. The tickets are available at, and the code is JETS.

Newman’s men will face Missouri State in Springfield for another exhibition game on Nov. 5 then will compete in the MIAA/NSIC Regional Challenge at the Claremore Expo Center Nov. 11-12.

The first home game will be against Sterling on Nov. 16 in Fugate Gymnasium.

Newman’s women’s basketball team also will face a big-name state rival for an exhibition game when they play Kansas State University on Nov. 4 in Manhattan.
