Mark your calendars because the women’s basketball team is holding a fundraising trivia night on Oct. 21 – and anyone can compete.
Doors will open at 6:45 p.m. for a silent auction. and trivia will begin at 7:15 p.m. The event is open to the public, and head coach Amy Briggs said she is excited for people to get to know the team. The women’s basketball team will be among the groups competing.
“Trivia night is an event for fans, our women's basketball families and friends to come together for a night of fun competition,” Briggs said. “(It’s) also an opportunity to meet and get to know our team during the night.”
All the money earned at the event will be going back to the team.
“The proceeds for the event will go toward the women's basketball program to help with travel expenses, team gear and program activities,” Briggs said.
Teams must have four to eight people each. Registration is $20 for adults, $10 for college and high school students, free for middle schoolers.
Those who just want to watch the competition can attend for free. Those who want to register can find a Google forms link listed under the Trivia Night tab on the women's basketball website. The trivia topics will vary from round to round, so participants must be ready for anything.
Prizes have not yet been disclosed, but Briggs said she has a few ideas.
“This is a team event, so the winning trivia prize is TBD and a surprise,” she said. “Bragging rights for sure will be earned.”
The deadline to sign up is Oct 18.
